“Sarees of India”, a national level special handloom Expo was organised at Pragati Maidan, Delhi from 7th to 23rd February. Sarees from different states of India were showcased at the expo. Bhagalpuri Tusser and Madhubani of Bihar, Varansi silk and Jamdani of Uttar Pradesh, Patola and Ikkat of Gujarat and Bhandhani of Rajasthan were few of the attractions of the expo.
The aim of the event was to promote sarees of different states and also to boost their sales. The event was sponsered by the Ministry of Textiles and organised by Association of Corporations and Apex Socities of Handloom.
